Dell has received the RosettaNet Award from RosettaNet Malaysia for the greatest number of RosettaNet implementations carried out with trading partners in 2006. In a statement on Dec 22, Dell said it beat 300 other companies who had implemented RosettaNet in 2006 for the award. Dell said RosettaNet standards offered a robust non-proprietary solution for companies to create collaborative business environments with one another. "It allows companies to create and exchange standard business processes, as well as link into unlimited number of global trading communities," it added. Dell started its operations in Malaysia in 1995, and since then, has grown in presence with operations around the country and captured the number one position in the corporate space and doubled market share since 2000. Dell's 238,000 and 370,000 square-foot Asia-Pacific Customer Centres in Penang manufacture desktops, workstations, notebooks, servers and storage products for customers throughout Asia-Pacific (excluding North Asia).
