August 09, 2006 04:18 PM US Eastern Timezone Fairchild Semiconductor and Yosun Industrial Reduce Time to Process Orders by 50 Percent; Implementation of RosettaNet Ordering Automates Manual, and Time Consuming Process; Follows Joint Implementation of RosettaNet Quoting SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 2006--Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), the leading global supplier of high performance products that optimize system power, today announced the company has deployed RosettaNet purchase order processing with Yosun Industrial, a major distributor of electronic components in Asia Pacific. Fairchild and Yosun have reduced the time it takes to process purchase orders by 50 percent and enabled resource optimization by streamlining this formerly manual and time-intensive process. This latest implementation of RosettaNet purchase order processing follows the joint deployment of RosettaNet quoting in August, 2005.

"Trading partners in the global supply chain must be able to react to new opportunities quickly and depend on communications that are efficient, accurate and timely - backed by the best products and services - to ensure customers have immediate access to what they need," said Tom Beaver, executive vice president, Worldwide Sales & Marketing. "Fairchild's adoption of RosettaNet standards with our leading partners, such as Yosun, drives enhanced business processes and significantly improves capacity planning. Fairchild's power products are at the forefront of global designs and by automating complex processes and eliminating manual order entry, we can serve our customers better. Fairchild and Yosun have worked closely together and are 100 percent directly linked for true system-to-system communications to seamlessly provide quotes and enter and track purchase orders. With Yosun, we are creating new opportunities for our valued customers."

"Yosun is Fairchild's fastest growing distributor in Asia, and we're very pleased to expand our RosettaNet implementation to include purchase order processing with them. We're excited about these RosettaNet advancements and pleased to partner with Yosun as they continue to grow their business," said Mark Norman vice president, Worldwide Distribution Sales and Marketing. "The expansion of our RosettaNet capabilities is another example of how Fairchild and Yosun are working towards a common goal."

"The implementation of RosettaNet's RFQ and Ordering PIPs significantly shorten the response time when responding to customer inquiries, it also offers a seamless partnership between Fairchild and Yosun," said Louis Chang, vice president of Sales, Yosun Industrial Company. "Reducing the time to process customer orders by 50 percent allows us to serve our customers more efficiently and effectively. We feel this is the most important goal for every single company nowadays."
